Duc du Clos
Mom Duc du Clos
To think of you is to envision the image of an amazing creature I am still baffled in realizing all you have given up to give me life A freedom you did not have to forgo, yet chose to trade-in just for me
A youth in its prime, when the good times in your life had just begun You might not have known of all the things you were putting aside Simply to have in your arms, a responsibility of endless demands
You never show in your eyes any regrets for all you could have been When the nights you spent awake would rob you of your beauty Never with a frown in your face do I ever greet the morning
Today, as I count the lines under yours affectionate and loving eyes I deduce the price of all the debts you paid for my being alive Still I will never find a way to measure all the care you gave to me
You held my hands even when you needed yours to dry up your tears In silence you suffered to not disturb my fragile adolescence You kept my innocence protected at the risk of being vulnerable
When I think of all you could have been in your own life Whatever I will ever become, can’t ever make up for your sacrifice In my feverish moments you stood by my side with an opened eye as fatigue forces you to wink in exhaustion at the passing hours
I can only imagine the fear my sleeping has given your awakening as you nurtured me out of the bosom of your selfless existence Even when Heaven replaces an angel with your name I will not stop being grateful as in my heart you’ll live on
How and with what do you repay a life, when yours is not worthy The distance may be a challenge, but love is an invisible bridge upon which emotions travel without the disturbance of the wind
You are my mother and forever ours hearts will be connected And like the molecules in our DNA not even air will cause disruption
When at times you do not hear me whisper, or murmur I love you It is simply on the words I choke up for so much I love you!
